Salesforce and the Trailblazer Community organize events throughout the year and around the world every year. Whether you are in New York, Paris, Sydney or Tokyo, there are Salesforce events happening in most of the big cities across the world.

Best Salesforce events help you to learn about the Salesforce ecosystem, its products and features, and provide you with amazing opportunities to meet and greet fellow Salesforce trailblazers and experts.

Making the Most of Salesforce Events

Feeling hesitant about attending Salesforce events in 2024, or are you potentially more of an introvert? Perhaps you are not sure what value there is in attending one of these events and need some extra guidance?

Below are a few tips you can use to really get the most out of your time when preparing for Salesforce events:

• Understand exactly what it is you want to achieve by attending Salesforce events. Whether you want to meet new people, connect with experts in your industry, or gain a better understanding of a specific Salesforce product, you should clearly understand how you will achieve these goals by attending the event. Review the agenda and plan which sessions and workshops you want to attend before the event. At events like Dreamforce, it might take a while to get from one location to another.

• Make use of social media, before, during, and after the event, to connect with like-minded Trailblazers. The networking does not start and stop at the event itself, you can continue to connect with like-minded people on LinkedIn and Twitter, for example.
  
  Sharing your learnings, posting photos, and tagging people are great options to increase the reach of your posts from Salesforce events. And don’t forget to follow the event hashtag to see the latest updates and engage with other attendees. This is also a great way to connect with speakers and presenters from Salesforce events.

• Network with other attendees: The Salesforce community is a friendly one, so you will want to make sure you are approachable as well. Listen actively, be curious, show sincere interest when connecting with other Trailblazers, and always be confident. Think about the kind of person you would want to approach at an event like this, and model them.

• Ask questions: Don’t be afraid to ask questions when attending sessions or workshops. This is an effective way to learn more about a specific topic and engage with the speakers. You can even prepare your questions before the event.

• Know what you are selling: YOU! It never hurts to practice a short pitch in front of the mirror explaining who you are, what you do, why you are at the event, and how you can help others. Practice helps anyone but especially if you tend to be a bit shy when approaching new people. Practice makes perfect!

• If you plan to showcase your ISV product or Salesforce consulting company, or even sponsor the event, you must take the preparation process more seriously. There will be a lot of steps to follow with multiple people involved, so it’s best to use a Salesforce project management app such as Inspire Planner to track all the activities you need to undertake to prepare for the event.
  
  With the right Salesforce project management software, you can easily create your event preparation plan with all the tasks displayed on the Gantt chart or in a Kanban view. This plan should include timelines, necessary resources, budget, and dependencies between tasks. You can then assign tasks to your team or vendors, collaborate with your team in Chatter, track deadlines and overall progress, and much more, ensuring your company’s success at the event.

Types of Salesforce Events

There are events organized by Salesforce itself, and then there are Salesforce events that are run by the community. Here are the key differences between the main types of Salesforce events:

• Dreamforce: Dreamforce is the largest tech conference in the world. Dreamforce gathers the entire Salesforce community – customers, partners, employees, and key stakeholders. It returned as an in-person event in 2022 and is going to be held every year again in San Francisco. Those who are unable to attend can also join via Salesforce+.

• TrailblazerDX: If you are a developer or looking to connect with Salesforce Developers, look no further than TrailblazerDX. This two-day event connects code-based Trailblazers from around the world and is jam-packed with interactive workshops, insightful sessions led by top experts, and community connection. TrailblazerDX is also conducted on an annual basis.

• Salesforce World Tours: If you are looking for something a little closer to home, look no further than Salesforce World Tours. Salesforce takes the show on the road and brings the party to major cities around the globe.
  
  Although not their largest events, they are still full of networking opportunities, presentations and demonstrations, and of course lots of other hands-on things to do. Salesforce World Tours are great for learning about the latest product innovations that can help you create connected customer experiences.

• Salesforce Connections: This event is the place to be if you are using Salesforce for marketing, commerce, and service. For inspiration and ideation around how you can create digital transformation across industries like RCG, Financial Services, Health Care and Life Sciences, or Manufacturing, Connections is where you should be.

• Education Summit: Calling all ed-tech enthusiasts! Empower your students, staff, and wider community with new tools and get inspired by the visionary speakers that Salesforce is hosting.

• Basecamps: These Salesforce events are some of the more intimately-sized meetings that Salesforce hosts around the world. They are all about showcasing customer success stories and helping to inspire others to see what they could do with their Salesforce investment.

• Community-led Events: Last but certainly not least are the local community-led events, commonly known as Dreamin’ Events. These Salesforce events are held across the globe throughout the year and are the only events in this list led by the local trailblazer community group leaders and volunteers. They are designed to cater to and connect local Trailblazers with stories, information-filled presentations, and other Trailblazers too! They tend to follow a similar agenda to the main Dreamforce event but with a more community focus.

Event: Cactusforce

Cactusforce is a brilliant Salesforce Community-led event crafted particularly for Salesforce Developers and Architects. Generative AI / GPT is changing the Salesforce ecosystem. The vision of the organizers of GPT Dreamin’ is to share, challenge, learn and grow by solving real-world problems using GPT for managing Salesforce. GPT Dreamin’ events are independently organized and supported by Salesforce professionals in the community.

For the first GTP Dreamin’ event, the organizers delivered 5 days of live virtual sessions. The recordings of each session are available on demand on their website. In 2024, the organizers are promising a full week of information and education.
